Admissions Process overview

We are delighted you are considering Nomad for your child. We are currently accepting applications for students entering 5th-7th grade for our Middle School Cohorts. If you’re interested in applying for 8th grade, please email admissions@sf-nomad.com. Nomad uses Ravenna for the admissions process, and all steps found below take place through that system. Please login or create an account on Ravenna to sign up for an open house and explore our school. We look forward to meeting you!

Attend an Open House

Learn about our unique approach to education! At our Open House we’ll share about our program and unique school offerings, you’ll have the chance to meet our staff and current students and their families, and tour our school space. Adults and children are welcome! Click the button below to register for an Open House on our school’s profile page on Ravenna.

Complete a Preliminary Application

Your written application helps us get to know your child and your family! We appreciate openness and candor in your responses. The more information we have, the more likely we are to help identify if your child is the right fit for Nomad, and if Nomad is the right fit for your family. Complete an application through Ravenna.


Schedule a Shadow Visit

We invite interested students to join us at Nomad for an adventurous day of learning and play! During a shadow visit, your child can get a feel for our school while we get to know them. A shadow visit is required for anyone who applies to Nomad. You can register your child for a shadow visit through Ravenna after attending an Open House and completing a preliminary application.

Complete Supporting Application Materials - February 14th, 2025

Additional supporting application materials include teacher recommendations, school records, assessments, financial aid application (optional), and an application fee (fee waivers are available). All materials can be submitted online through Ravenna. Application materials are due February 14th, 2025, for priority consideration. After that, we accept applications for rolling admissions as long as there is still space available for the upcoming school year.

Flexible Tuition

Nomad feels very strongly that the only way to educate is within a diverse group. Diversity of thought, experience, interest, ability, culture, and identity are crucial to creating a robust learning experience. We offer tuition adjustment as a way to ensure socio-economic diversity, based on a family’s. demonstrated ability to pay and Nomad’s availability of funds. We use the Clarity Financial Aid application to determine a family’s demonstrated financial need.

To get started with Clarity, please create an account and start the application process online using the button to the right. Clarity’s application can be completed in 30 minutes, and is mobile-friendly. There’s a fee of $60 to submit an application, but you can submit your applicatin to any other schools who accept Clarity without paying an additional fee.

Tuition Range for 2025-2026

Full time (Monday- Friday): $3,000 - $41,800

Part time (Monday - Thursday): $3,000 - $33,440

Fridays only: $8,500

 Notification & Enrollment

Notification and tuition letters for priority admissions will be emailed on Friday March 21st, 2025. Signed enrollment contracts and tuition deposits are due Friday, March 28th, 2025.
